The Administrative block with a built up area of 20,000 sq.ft. houses the Chancellors chamber, Prinicpal’s and Vice Principals Chambers, Research Director’s Chamber , Admin office space, Accounts section and visitors area in the ground floor. The First floor and the second floor of the administrative block houses the library and College auditorium respectively.
The Ground floor and first floor of the OP Block houses the Various Clinical Departments and Radiology and imaging section with a built up area of around 1,38,800 Sq.ft. Each Department has a Separate UG section, PG section and a Seminar Hall. All Clinical Departments have adequate space with Clinical area, sterilization room, rooms for faculties as prescribed by Dental Council of India. All Post Graduate section is air conditioned. The Second Floor and Third floor of the OP block houses the Non Clinical departments, Pre clinical Labs, Basic science departments with the built up area of 50000 Sq.ft. The Various Dental Speciality departments are upgraded with latest and High end equipments such as
One of the very few dental colleges in the country to have this sophisticated instrument. It is extensively used interms of diagnosis, treatment planning and R&D activities.
It is an expensive tool used by dept of orthodontics and OMFS in planning of orthognathic surgeries.
The department of Conservative & endodontics has been upgraded with this advanced tool and the PG students are trained effectively to perform microscopic endodontics.
The department of Periodontics is equipped with laser technology to perform various types of gum surgeries using lasers.
The department of Prosthodontics is fully equipped with Dental imlant surgical kits and also equipments such as Intra oral welder and RFA .
The prosthodontic laboratory is equipped with latest casting machines, ceramic furnace to deliver an effective ceramic work.
Multi-Observation Ten Headed Microscope
Department of oral and maxillofacial pathology houses this exclusive high end 10 headed OLYMPUS research microscope for teaching and learning purpose of PG students and research scholars.
The Central research lab which is one of the salient features of this institution is present in the third floor of OP block with a built up area of 2,500 sq.ft. CRL aims to contribute multidisciplinary Research and development activities and offer platform to the researchers to avail lab facility. The laboratory is equipped with high end equipments such as RTPCR and it is well equipped to assist research projects, dissertations, funded research, short studies of students and PhD scholars. It also exclusively assists Students and faculty in generating PRF which is used during Implant and Periodontal Surgeries.
The Department of Oral and Maxillofacial pathology has a well equipped Immunohistochemistry lab which deals with diagnosis and R&D activities.
The College is very particular in providing quality care to the general public and it stresses on effective sterilization which is a prime requisite to provide quality care. The OP block houses a central sterilization area in the second floor equipped with quality sterilization equipments, where in all the clinical instruments from various departments will be sterilized.
The College Library Situated in the first floor of Admin block has a built up ara of 8000 sq.ft. A total of 10814 text books are available. The college has subscription for 49 international Journals and 35 national Journals and back volumes of 77 journals are available. In addition to this, facilities such as Reading room for post graduates , Faculty room , E – Library arena, Scanning and Photcopying facility are also available in the library. The E library is equipped with 10 computers with high speed (1 GB) WiFi facility enabling the students to access online journals and various e- content materials.
The second floor of Administrative Block houses the auditorium which is a well-designed with modern audio visual enabled air-conditioned auditorium theatre with Dolby stereo surround system. It has a seating capacity of approximately 400 audiences. All major functions, including conferences, CDE programs, annual cultural program and college day function are conducted in the auditorium.
The lecture Theatre complex is a two-storeyed building with 4 lecture halls equipped with state of the art facilities and boys common hall. Technology needs to be integrated into teaching and learning process and MAHER has done the best to ensure it in these centrally air-conditioned classrooms. Technological aspects such as such as smart boards, Multi media & Audio visual Aids has been leveraged for better student-teacher interaction, productivity and communication. It makes teaching and learning simpler and enjoyable. Each classroom can accommodate over a hundred students. The seating arrangement is such that the students get an unhindered view of the faculty and teaching aids from all sides.
Meenakshi Ammal Dental College has a fully equipped mobile dental clinic which is used to carry out dental treatment and screening at identified locations such as Schools, Local community areas etc. The dental Van has 2 fully equipped dental chairs which facilitate provision of comprehensive patient care in the outreach programmes of our department.
Meenakshi Ammal Dental College and Hospital offers a very comfortable living accommodation with separate hostels for boys and girls, with 268 rooms and 17 resident quarters with a built up area of around 1,00,050 sq.ft. All the Hostels in the campus are under the care of resident wardens. The Campus houses one hostel for boys, Four hostels for girls and one quarters for PG students. The Campus has an in house mess to cater the needs of the students and staff Members. The mess area is spacious, well ventilated and has an exclusive dining area for the students and faculty. The students are provided with breakfast, lunch, evening refreshment & dinner
The campus facilitates the students with 2 in house canteens and one juice shop which functions till 7 o clock in the evening.
The College also has a music club for passionate music Lovers, in the third floor of the administrative block equipped with various musical instruments and the music club encourages and train the students for participating in various cultural competitions.
